My family just got back from our most fabulous vacation ever and sadly, my last spring break with my girls at home. :( It's so difficult to believe they are 18 and about to head off to college this fall. I will be back and post some of our vacation pictures, because they pretty much rock. And, no, I'm not biased at ALL when I say that. LOL.

On the writing front, I've turned in the last book of my Mills & Boon/Harlequin contract and have books coming out in September and December of this year. I've been offered another contract and will hopefully be writing more Medicals in the near future. So wild to think I have now sold 24 books to Mills & Boon/Harlequin. Who would have ever believed that dream would come true? Is still coming true? I have to pinch myself whenever I think about it. :)

I have a major exciting announcement. I've written the book of my heart (okay, so it's one of many books of my heart, but truly this book is special to me!). I've signed with the fabulous Three Seas Literary Agency to represent When the Rain Falls. It's an inspirational contemporary romance that's got a bit of a women's fiction touch to it. I am so excited to share this story with my readers. I plan to publish this book under a different name from Janice Lynn as it's such a different story from my Janice Lynn books--like I said, it's an inspirational. If whomever buys the story will let me, I hope to be writing under Janice Marie Bass or J. M. Bass, but who knows? Whatever is a good marketable name is great by me. Never have I been more proud of a book than When the Rain Falls. That book is the direction I want my writing career to take--where I am determined to take my writing career.

Since my marriage fell apart and the divorce that followed in 2010, I've been what I call 'treading water' with my writing career. I've put out a couple of stories a year, but haven't done the promotion, conferences, reader's luncheons, etc. that I did prior to this and that I truly believe helped me to sell my first book and win RT Bookclub's American Title Contest. Unbelievably, I've even quit entering writing contests other than the Rita. This year, I did enter 2 contests and am going to keep my fingers crossed on them. In the meantime, I put the pieces of myself back together, learned to love again, both myself and a fabulous man who swept me off my feet in 2014. Personally, I am whole again and find this treading water business is for the birds. I wanna do the mermaid water thing...or at least a fish thing. :) I'm soooo ready to get back to interacting with other writers and readers and When the Rain Falls is just the story I want to do it with. I'm going to have so much fun promoting this story and, hopefully, series of books. I've so many ideas that I hope I get to share with you very, very soon!

I am attending the American Christian Fiction Writers Conference in Nashville in August and am trying to decide between Moonlight & Magnolias in Atlanta and Put Your Heart in a Book in NJ this fall. If you see me there, please say hi! I truly miss the wonderful relationships I've developed over the years and look forward to forging many new ones.

Anyway, that's a quick update. Hope everyone out there is cool and having fun! Catch up with you again soon!! :)
Winter Wedding in Vegas by Janice Lynn is a romance which takes you on so many rides and makes the whole journey so much more enjoyable.
I loved the married in Las Vegas story-line and the different turns the story took. Taylor is a single mom whose life revolves around her daughter Gracie. She was a strong, independent heroine with her own vulnerabilities and it was difficult to not like her. Slade is a notorious playboy but I loved his attitude and how almost nothing unfazed him. He was so charming and the way his character evolved for the better made me love him even more! Gracie is a lovely addition to the story who brings the couple closer and makes the story more sweeter without overshadowing them.
Overall, Winter Wedding in Vegas by Janice Lynn is an enjoyable story and is recommended for everyone who is looking for a fun romance read.
They were on my nephew's motorcycle and have sustained serious injuries. Please pray for them and help as you can! THANK YOU!!!

HELP ANDREW & ASHLEY

Please help with Andrew Floied & Ashley Morgan’s medical expenses! An uninsured driver has seriously injured the young couple on Thursday, August 15, 2013. Wearing helmets and riding safety gear, the couple were on their way back from visiting ‘the cross’ on Monteagle Mountain. Twenty-one-year old Andrew had enlisted in the Marines a few months previously and the couple of several years were spending as much time together as possible prior to his leaving for boot camp and were enjoying their leisurely ride. A woman driving on a three times revoked license ran through a flashing red traffic light and broadsided their motorcycle without ever slowing or braking. Ashley was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in a post office parking lot. Andrew was pinned between the motorcycle and the car. Critical, both of them were airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center to the trauma unit. Ashley broke her left femur, tibia, and fibula and sustained multiple other serious injuries. Andrew broke his left humerus, tibia, fibula, shattered his pelvis, punctured his lung, and has multiple other serious injuries. By the grace of God, neither suffered any apparent brain injury thus far. Both are still in critical condition. Andrew is facing multiple more surgeries. Both are looking at months of their lives snatched away as they fight to recover from this tragedy. Between medical bills, missed work, and all the other expenses these two and their families are facing, the costs are already staggering. The two helicopter rides alone are expected to be over $50,000. Andrew has health insurance that will help with some of his expenses. Ashley does not. She graduated from nursing school as an LPN earlier this year, has been working PRN while searching for a full time job. The woman who hit them had no insurance. Andrew had minimum insurance on his motorcycle and it isn’t clear yet how much of Ashley’s bills, if any, will be covered.
I am Andrew’s aunt (Jennifer’s sister) and love these two kids. I am so frustrated that someone has done this to them by pure carelessness. They and their families are incurring so much financial burden already during this time between travel, time off work, etc. that giving to them financially and establishing a way for others to ease that strain seemed a small thing for me to do. Please help and pray for these two good kids/young adults who are now facing a very different future than the ones they had chosen, dreamed of, and worked so hard to achieve. For locals who would like to donate directly, please drop off an envelope with FOR ANDREW & ASHLEY with whatever you can give or a check made out to Andrew Floied or Ashley Morgan at Dr. Jay Trussler's office in Manchester and it will be given directly to family. Donations can also be given at Toliver's Pawn Shop on the square in Manchester. Please pray for Andrew, Ashley, and their families and help financially as you can. Thank you with all my heart, and I know Andrew, Ashley, and their families feel the same. God bless.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15656979.post-69695661716070536882013-07-29T11:55:00.000-07:002013-07-29T11:55:00.608-07:00RWAJust had a fantastic conference in Atlanta with Romance Writers of America. Can't believe how long its been since I've posted on my blog. Guess with the FACEBOOK wave, blogging has taken a bit of a backseat. At least for me. I do post fairly regularly on my FACEBOOK account, so definitely for routine updates on me and my crazy life, that's definitely the place to stay in touch.

Since last posting here, I've had several books to come out. :) The Nurse Who Saved Christmas, The Doctor's Damsel in Distress, and Flirting with the Society Doctor. :) You can find them on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and such places for download or purchase. I am on a computer where I dont have easy access to covers and links, but will try to come back in the near future and post them. You buy that, right? I mean it has only been almost a year since I last posted here. ;) Seriously, I will try to do better. :)

I still have my Matthew McConnaughey obsession. The man does have a yummy chest and abs after all. I have changed jobs and am back in family medicine, which I love. After a very emotional 2010, life is good again.

Anyway, that's a quick update on me. Hope all is well and God bless!

I got copies of my October release in the mail and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this cover! This book was a challenge for me to write in many ways as I had to do LOTS of military research. I'm talking about my upcoming eharlequin release, Dr Di Angelo's Baby Bombshell and high school reunions. :)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15656979.post-13981142749560874322010-03-22T18:54:00.000-07:002010-03-22T19:41:08.998-07:00Is it really already the end of March???Lots of exciting things going on in my life! I'm loving my new job working for a Pulmonology group. It's great to be learning so many new things and to be stepping outside my comfort zone and finding out that sometimes that can be a great thing. In April I'm going to the School of Sleep Medicine in Atlanta and am looking forward to expanding my noggin power even more. :)

On the writing front, Cole and Amelia's story (my military medical romance) is now titled Officer, Surgeon...Gentleman. Is that not just the coolest title??? LOVE IT. It's scheduled for a UK release date of August 2010 (hardback) and October 2010 (paperback). I'm not sure on US and other country release dates yet. Sorry. My Christmas story is completed and turned in, also. It's tentatively titled The Nurse's Sexy Santa, but I'm not sure they'll keep that. We'll see. It'll be a October 2010 hardback release and a December 2010 paperback release in the UK. Again, not sure on US and other countries.

As of right now, you can still purchase copies of Playboy Surgeon, Top-Notch Dad. It's listed at eharlequin as Playboy Heart Surgeon, Top-Notch Dad. You can google my name and pull this up, or just click HERE and it'll take you directly to where the book is for sale at Harlequin. Or you can go to Amazon and search "Janice Lynn" and it will pull up the books available! They have the KINDLE version of Dr Di Angelo's Baby Bombshell (June 2010 release) available for Pre-Order already. WOW! :)

Upcoming events are the HEART OF DIXIE Readers Luncheon in Huntsville on May 15th. Tickets are still available, so if you haven't got yours and can be in the area that day, be sure to grab them while you can. The fabulous Julia London will be the guest speaker and there will be a book signing afterwards. I always love the basket raffles at these things! I'll be putting together a JANICE LYNN basket to be given away that day, too! :)

I'm getting really excited about the RWA National Conference being held in Nashville this year. So excited that several of my dear friends are going to be visiting my home state! Especially my pals Anna & Keith Sugden who I'm going to take for a tour of my hometown in exchange for a London tour...not really a fair exchange, eh? ;)

My last day at WMC. I have lots of news to share! First off, I'm in the process of changing jobs. I'm leaving family practice to join a pulmologist. I think this is going to be a good move for my family, but definitely keep us in your prayers!! Next, I've sold FOUR more books to Harlequin! Yea! I'm very excited about this. Two of these books will be out later this year and the second two will be out in 2011. :) I'm really excited about the two releases for later this year. One is a military medical that I hope I haven't completely botched as I adore the characters! and the other is my first Christmas story. There's just something magical about Christmas and I hope I capture that in this romance. :) The other two, well, I'm having lots of fun with the one. The hero is just something else! and the fourth one is going to be another military romance. So, I am very, very excited about all these things going on! :)

I also wanted to update you on my upcoming appearances. The first coming up on my current schedule is The HEART OF DIXIE Readers luncheon. This is a fabulous opportunity for readers and booksellers and librarians to meet authors, have lunch with them, and then attend a booksigning afterwards. I always have lots of fun at these and hope if you're in the Huntsville, Alabama area (or can travel!) that you'll attend! :) I've posted the information below with links. :)

Heart of Dixie's 12th Annual Romance Reader's Luncheon

Join us May 15, 2010 for our 13th Annual Luncheon as we welcome

New York Times Bestselling Author Julia London!

Questions? This is my breast cancer walk book & it's dedicated to my sweetheart of a grandma whom I love dearly. :) I'll be stopping by throughout the day at eharlequin (work willing!) and will be giving away a free book tomorrow night to one person who leaves a comment prior to when I do the drawing tomorrow night. Yea!!!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15656979.post-41459471113520001622009-10-08T20:04:00.000-07:002009-10-08T20:16:06.268-07:00The Nurse's Baby Miracle by Janice LynnYea! I've been waiting for what seems like forever for this book to be released! It holds such a dear place in my heart and is so appropriate to be released during October. The Nurse's Baby Miracle is set at a 3 day 60 mile breast cancer fundraiser walk in Atlanta. If you've been reading my blog a while, you'll likely recall that I participated in a 3 day 60 mile breast cancer walk. The air there just sizzled with excitement and I always knew I'd write a book set at a walk. The story just had to be the right story and the characters just had to be the right characters, though. Not just any would work for a setting so near and dear to me. Caleb and Natalie are those characters and theirs is a love story that I hope you will love as much as I do. :)

The story is available readily overseas at most everywhere, but here in the US the easiest place to get your copy is by ordering it from Amazon. Right now it's available for around $14. There are 3 stories in the book and an introduction from the fabulous Penny Jordan--yes, THE PENNY JORDAN, and yes, I get a little light-headed every time I see that cover with her name and my name. WOW. Totally a pinch worthy moment. She's so fabulous!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15656979.post-39571875421391799702009-08-23T23:52:00.000-07:002009-08-24T00:03:11.801-07:00Free Books!
Oooh, that got your attention, didn't it? LOL. Can't say as I blame you. Free books always gets my attention. Books are something I'm passionate about. Anyway, I'm blogging over at http://medicalromance.blogspot.com/ and will be giving away books to two winners this week. If you have a moment, stop by and say hello.

Life has been busy with getting the kids back to school, working in my garden, finishing up a book, and all the normal routine life things. Time sure does go by fast, but not so fast as to not have a little fun along the way. Here's a few pictures from things I did over the summer.

Eek. Internet is particularly slow tonight so will have to add more pics later. This was from our trip to the Hiwassee River in East Tennessee where we floated down the rive on inner tubes. My youngest and I got to see a bald eagle swoop down and catch a fish. That was very cool! And the scenery as you can see was just gorgeous!

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
