Exciting News!

I've been busy so far in 2016!  My family just got back from our most fabulous vacation ever and sadly, my last spring break with my girls at home. :(  It's so difficult to believe they are 18 and about to head off to college this fall.  I will be back and post some of our vacation pictures, because they pretty much rock. And, no, I'm not biased at ALL when I say that. LOL.

On the writing front, I've turned in the last book of my Mills & Boon/Harlequin contract and have books coming out in September and December of this year. I've been offered another contract and will hopefully be writing more Medicals in the near future.  So wild to think I have now sold 24 books to Mills & Boon/Harlequin.  Who would have ever believed that dream would come true? Is still coming true? I have to pinch myself whenever I think about it. :)

I have a major exciting announcement.  I've written the book of my heart (okay, so it's one of many books of my heart, but truly this book is special to me!).  I've signed with the fabulous Three Seas Literary Agency to represent When the Rain Falls. It's an inspirational contemporary romance that's got a bit of a women's fiction touch to it. I am so excited to share this story with my readers.  I plan to publish this book under a different name from Janice Lynn as it's such a different story from my Janice Lynn books--like I said, it's an inspirational.  If whomever buys the story will let me, I hope to be writing under Janice Marie Bass or J. M. Bass, but who knows?  Whatever is a good marketable name is great by me. Never have I been more proud of a book than When the Rain Falls. That book is the direction I want my writing career to take--where I am determined to take my writing career.

Since my marriage fell apart and the divorce that followed in 2010, I've been what I call 'treading water' with my writing career.  I've put out a couple of stories a year, but haven't done the promotion, conferences, reader's luncheons, etc. that I did prior to this and that I truly believe helped me to sell my first book and win RT Bookclub's American Title Contest. Unbelievably, I've even quit entering writing contests other than the Rita. This year, I did enter 2 contests and am going to keep my fingers crossed on them. In the meantime, I put the pieces of myself back together, learned to love again, both myself and a fabulous man who swept me off my feet in 2014. Personally, I am whole again and find this treading water business is for the birds. I wanna do the mermaid water thing...or at least a fish thing. :)   I'm soooo ready to get back to interacting with other writers and readers and When the Rain Falls is just the story I want to do it with. I'm going to have so much fun promoting this story and, hopefully, series of books. I've so many ideas that I hope I get to share with you very, very soon!

I am attending the American Christian Fiction Writers Conference in Nashville in August and am trying to decide between Moonlight & Magnolias in Atlanta and Put Your Heart in a Book in NJ this fall. If you see me there, please say hi!  I truly miss the wonderful relationships I've developed over the years and look forward to forging many new ones.

Anyway, that's a quick update. Hope everyone out there is cool and having fun!  Catch up with you again soon!! :)

Marriage was never in the cards for Slade. But now he finds himself married to the most gorgeous woman he’s ever laid eyes on. And when he meets her little girl, Gracie, his heart melts just a little further. Can a Christmas miracle turn this playboy extraordinaire into the perfect family man?
Winter Wedding in Vegas by Janice Lynn is a romance which takes you on so many rides and makes the whole journey so much more enjoyable.
I loved the married in Las Vegas story-line and the different turns the story took. Taylor is a single mom whose life revolves around her daughter Gracie. She was a strong, independent heroine with her own vulnerabilities and it was difficult to not like her. Slade is a notorious playboy but I loved his attitude and how almost nothing unfazed him. He was so charming and the way his character evolved for the better made me love him even more!  Gracie is a lovely addition to the story who brings the couple closer and makes the story more sweeter without overshadowing them.
Overall, Winter Wedding in Vegas by Janice Lynn is an enjoyable story and is recommended for everyone who is looking for a fun romance read.

MIA

Man, I have been MIA for a LONG time, haven't I?  I have been one busy woman. :)  Writing some, but mostly with my personal life.
June 1, 2014, I married my best friend and the best man I know. :)  He is definitely a keeper. :)

Life has been good, but busy. I'm working full time in a fabulous family practice, adjusting to married life again after being single for 4 years, and just enjoying each day as it comes.

Writing wise, I wrote a short Christmas story that is in a bundle with some of my writer pals that was released for the 2014 Christmas season. It's called Tiny Treats and it's a great collection. If you haven't downloaded your copy, here's your chance. :)

I will post again (soon hopefully!) with upcoming news! :)

I need your help!

My oldest nephew and his darling girlfriend are facing serious medical issues due to their being hit by an uninsured vehicle. They were on my nephew's motorcycle and have sustained serious injuries. Please pray for them and help as you can!  THANK YOU!!!

HELP ANDREW & ASHLEY

Please help with Andrew Floied & Ashley Morgan’s medical expenses! An uninsured driver has seriously injured the young couple on Thursday, August 15, 2013. Wearing helmets and riding safety gear, the couple were on their way back from visiting ‘the cross’ on Monteagle Mountain. Twenty-one-year old Andrew had enlisted in the Marines a few months previously and the couple of several years were spending as much time together as possible prior to his leaving for boot camp and were enjoying their leisurely ride. A woman driving on a three times revoked license ran through a flashing red traffic light and broadsided their motorcycle without ever slowing or braking. Ashley was thrown from the motorcycle and landed in a post office parking lot. Andrew was pinned between the motorcycle and the car. Critical, both of them were airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center to the trauma unit. Ashley broke her left femur, tibia, and fibula and sustained multiple other serious injuries. Andrew broke his left humerus, tibia, fibula, shattered his pelvis, punctured his lung, and has multiple other serious injuries. By the grace of God, neither suffered any apparent brain injury thus far. Both are still in critical condition. Andrew is facing multiple more surgeries. Both are looking at months of their lives snatched away as they fight to recover from this tragedy. Between medical bills, missed work, and all the other expenses these two and their families are facing, the costs are already staggering. The two helicopter rides alone are expected to be over $50,000. Andrew has health insurance that will help with some of his expenses. Ashley does not. She graduated from nursing school as an LPN earlier this year, has been working PRN while searching for a full time job. The woman who hit them had no insurance. Andrew had minimum insurance on his motorcycle and it isn’t clear yet how much of Ashley’s bills, if any, will be covered.
I am Andrew’s aunt (Jennifer’s sister) and love these two kids. I am so frustrated that someone has done this to them by pure carelessness. They and their families are incurring so much financial burden already during this time between travel, time off work, etc. that giving to them financially and establishing a way for others to ease that strain seemed a small thing for me to do. Please help and pray for these two good kids/young adults who are now facing a very different future than the ones they had chosen, dreamed of, and worked so hard to achieve. For locals who would like to donate directly, please drop off an envelope with FOR ANDREW & ASHLEY with whatever you can give or a check made out to Andrew Floied or Ashley Morgan at Dr. Jay Trussler's office in Manchester and it will be given directly to family. Donations can also be given at Toliver's Pawn Shop on the square in Manchester. Please pray for Andrew, Ashley, and their families and help financially as you can. Thank you with all my heart, and I know Andrew, Ashley, and their families feel the same. God bless.
