Dreams

Today, I autographed some of the copies of Jane Millionaire. One of them was for a very dear friend of mine who is also a writer. Although she hasn't started the submission process yet, she's a talented lady. In her book, I advised her to go after her dream.

That's my blog for the day. Going after your dream. For as long as I can recall I dreamed of writing a book, selling a book, holding a book I wrote in my hands. Did I think I could do it? Yes & no. But I knew that if I didn't try, if I didn't do the work, & try my best, well, there was no chance at all that I'd ever have my dream.

That's what I want to give to each of you. Your dream. Visualize it. Imagine it. SEE it. Now, what do you have to do to reach that dream? To make it really happen? Are you willing to do those things? If not, what can you do to get motivated to do those things? Do you have the resources to do those things? If not, how can you acquire the resources? Is having your dream worth the sacrifices you'll have to make? Is sacrificing your dream something you'll someday regret?

For each of us, our dreams are different. Most of us have lots of dreams--I do. But I challenge each of you to pick one of your dreams, the one that burns within you, the somday I'll do this dream, the if I could do anything I wanted dream--that one, I want you to pick it and do the things in the above paragraph. Get the image clearly in your head--then I want you to go after that dream. Make you dream happen. If you don't, no one else will.

First must come the dream before much can be accomplished. Congratulations on following yours.
